6-9-11 – Like rats from a sinking ship

In case you didn’t hear, Newt Gingrich is running for president.

All joking aside, Newt Gingrich is running for president, but seems to have a slight problem now that his top Campaign Aides have decided to tell him to stuff it, and for the most logical reason of all:

His wife is kind of bossy.

Thus spake Politico’s article:

“Sources connected to Gingrich’s departed team said many of those who left were pinning some of the blame for the candidate’s missteps on Callista Gingrich.

“He does whatever she wants,” said one source, who added that the Greek cruise was long-scheduled and Gingrich didn’t feel he could put up an argument against it.”

Poor Newt. He must be having a really hard time right now, between being attacked by people who read, keeping up payments with Tiffany, and of course fighting the specter of Socialism. To be fair, it’s a lot to keep balanced at one time, especially while trying to run for the highest office in the United States.

Certainly, one so well-versed in matters historical should be able to see that trying to please everyone doesn’t usually work out as originally intended. But you can hardly fault the man for trying, considering the other options his party has at the moment.
